Variable wing adjustment of tension only makes sense given:

Day to day, clothes are different
Standing or sitting ideally require different tension.
Simple knob adjustment
Adjust for comfort and concealment. Fits most holster application.
Adjustable tensioning knob
Vary adjustment on the fly during use day to day. When you sit down to drive, for instance,
just turn clockwise to reduce tension for more comfort. Fixed wings require tools and typically only come with two pads.
